A 21-yr-inclined man has been arrested on suspicion of an offence contrary to the Malicious Communication Act after a range of racist and hateful Tweets had been posted online in leisurely 2020.
Officers from the Met’s Central Soccer Unit arrested the man at a Retford tackle at some stage in the early hours of this morning (Monday 8 February). An investigation became launched last yr after Chelsea FC identified a range of offensive and hateful Tweets. This day’s action is the discontinuance result of that investigation.
The 21-yr-inclined has since been released below police investigation while enquiries proceed.
