Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Brent which left a woman critically injured.

Police were called at about 15: 35hrs on Thursday, 7 July to Chichele Road at the junction with Melrose Avenue, NW2 following reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.

Officers, London’s Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended. The 39-year-old female pedestrian was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The rider of the motorcycle was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of drugs. He was taken to hospital for treatment before being taken to a north London police station where he was subsequently released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating. They are particularly keen to hear from any witnesses who saw the collision, or captured it on dash cam or CCTV.
