Officers are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision in Lambeth.

Police were called at 01: 09hrs on Tuesday, 20 September to reports of a person found injured in Wandsworth Road, SW8.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

A man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition. His next of kin have been informed.

At this early stage we believe the pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car which failed to stop at the scene. Urgent enquiries are taking place to trace the driver.

Road closures are in place and motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
